Couwenberg Plumbing is seeking a reliable, experienced and customer focused Journeyman/ Plumber & Gas Fitter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting a wide range of plumbing and gas systems in residential, commercial and agricultural settings. Your knowledge and expertise will ensure all safety standards and client specifications are met in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. We are looking for someone who can work independently or in a team with minimal supervision to deliver high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing, drainage, water, venting, and gas systems.
- Install, service, and troubleshoot gas-fired appliances, water heaters, boilers, and related equipment
- Fit and connect gas lines safely while following all relevant codes and regulations
- Conduct inspections to diagnose, troubleshoot, and implement effective solutions promptly for all plumbing and gas system issues
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and safety inspections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to execute precise installation
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools and plumbing equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete work orders, service reports, and required documentation accurately. Including but not limited to work performed, materials used, and future recommendations for maintenance




- Communicate and collaborate professionally with customers, suppliers, and team members
- Follow protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and protected work environment

Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Journeyman Plumber License
- Valid Gas Fitter License (G2 preferred)
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and building infrastructure
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems is considered a strong asset
- Possess basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical specifications
- Experience using power tools, hand tools, and specialized plumbing equipment
- Welding experience is considered a strong asset but not required
- Able to lift heavy materials and work in a variety of environments
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and gas codes and industry best practices.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, or as part of a team
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive attitude
