About Well Fed:

Located in beautiful North Vancouver, Well Fed has been successfully providing Meal Solutions to the North Shore and Vancouver for over 10 years.
Well Fed is a local company that offers a great team environment with a focus on a positive work culture. We offer two main services: meals to go "frozen ready to cook entrees" as well as run a well-established lunch program that proudly follows BC Guidelines to Healthy Eating. In 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, Well Fed was voted the best food delivery service on the North Shore by NSN. Our meals are made in-house from scratch with whole ingredients that contain lots of good-for-you nutrients. As we feel very strongly about fostering healthy eating habits, we also run cooking classes for kids in the summer months.

A Glimpse at the Role:

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Manager to lead our fantastic team. At Well Fed we have a team of cooks, bakers, kitchen helpers, packers, office staff and drivers. This team comes together to prepare, pack and deliver our nutritious and delicious meals to feed thousands of kids and families on the North Shore and Vancouver. Your role will be to oversee the running of the kitchen for our school lunch program/daycare lunch program and meals to go in an effective and efficient manner all while ensuring our high-quality and safety standards.

What you will get paid to do:

Actively runs/leads daily lunch service for our daycares and schools. Leads our team with a calm demeanour. Ensuring processes are followed to achieve the best food quality, safety standards are met for our customers.

Customer-focused and detail-oriented.



Looking for a positive lead by example leadership style. Proactively leading the team to ensure the right food goes to the correct customer.

Works with a mindset for continuous improvement for our products, service and processes to achieve the best results for the company and customers.

Plans and organizes team for hot and cold prep for our school lunch program.

Maintain/Create a great working environment for the team you lead by providing transparent expectations, offering guidance and supervising for success.

Train new staff members to follow our standards and guidelines.

Ensure a consistent labour cost percentage in line with set budgets.

Scheduling that is focused on business needs and a fair balance for your team members.

Ensure a consistent food cost percentage in line with our business goals.

Daily & weekly food ordering.

Proactively Leads kitchen team to follow safety and food-safe standards

New product development and product improvement for both our Daycare/School Lunch and Meals to Go Programs.

During Summer instructs if required in the Kids/Teen Cooking Camps

Ideas and avenues for growth for the business in collaboration with the Owner

Qualifications:





Managerial Experience in leading a successful kitchen team to create a strong team environment.

Attributes include: clear communication, organization, delegation, strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making skills.

Calm Demeanor

Lead by example, leadership style

Detail oriented

Customer focused

Passionate about fostering healthy eating habits

Red Seal Certified Preferred

Experience with Food Cost

Computer Skills to include: Word, Power Point and Excel.

Positive attitude, with a passion to get things done right

Hard-working

Punctual

Food Safe

Attention to cleanliness

Ability to work on your feet for 8 hour shift

Physically Fit (can ensure repetitive lifting of 25 kg)
