About the Pharmacy Technician role :

Position SummaryMedicine Place Pharmacy is seeking a Regulated Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) licensed with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) to join our growing pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring prescription accuracy, and contributing to high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.This role focuses on the technical aspects of prescription processing, medication preparation, and final checks within the technician’s regulated scope of practice.Key Responsibilities

- Perform final technical checks of prescriptions in accordance with ACP standards and pharmacy policies
- Accurately prepare, package, and label prescriptions
- Receive and process prescription orders and refill requests
- Manage prescription data entry and maintain patient profiles in the pharmacy management system (Kroll)
- Prepare compliance packaging/blister packs and ensure medication accuracy
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and medication storage requirements




- Maintain narcotic and controlled drug records in compliance with regulations
- Assist with third-party billing and adjudication
- Support pharmacists in workflow management and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with ACP standards, privacy legislation, and pharmacy policies
- Participate in quality assurance, documentation, and safety procedures

Qualifications

- Registered and licensed as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
- In good standing with ACP and able to practice to full technician scope
- Experience with Kroll pharmacy software considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced continuing care pharmacy environment

Preferred Experience

- Continuing care pharmacy experience
- Experience with compliance packaging and EMARs
- Knowledge of Netcare and third-party billing systems

Compensation & Schedule

- Hourly Wage: $30–$33 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional weekends may be required based on company needs
