The Welder plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our fleet and equipment by performing a variety of welding and fabrication work on heavy trucks and related construction equipment, including road graders, salters, plows, and dump boxes.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, repair and fabricate units.
- Inspect for obvious signs of wear and/or damage.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
- Diagnose defects in heavy equipment.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, and streamline work processes.
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls if required.
- Accurate completion of work orders and timecards.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, inspect, and perform other maintenance work as per MTO regulations.
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Other mechanical repair work as required.

Qualifications

- Welding license an asset
- Able to design and retrofit plows, harnesses, salter boxes, etc.
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision




- Basic computer proficiency
- Valid Class G driver's licence
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work

Work Conditions

- Primarily based in our shop, with occasional travel to company job sites
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak operating periods
- Safety equipment will be required such as safety boots, hearing protection and safety glasses.
