Position Overview

We are a growing wholesale distribution company seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Accountant to take ownership of accounting operations for multiple related companies.

This is a hands-on role for a disciplined accounting professional who values accuracy, strong documentation, effective cash flow management, internal controls, and meeting all financial and regulatory deadlines.

The Senior Accountant will maintain complete and audit-ready financial records, manage full-cycle accounting activities, support inventory accounting, and ensure compliance with Canadian payroll, tax, and government reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple companies.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, customer balances, and overdue accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and verify invoices, approvals, and supporting records before payment.
- Process EFT payments, electronic banking, cash transactions, and account transfers.
- Complete bank, credit card, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Monitor cash balances, upcoming obligations, and short-term cash flow requirements.
- Process employee and contractor payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain payroll records, employee files, and confidential documentation.
- Prepare GST/HST filings, payroll remittances, CRA reporting, and WorkSafeBC documentation.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Complete month-end entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting.
- Support inventory reconciliations, costing, adjustments, write-offs,



damages, and physical counts.
- Investigate accounting and inventory discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain organized accounting records and an effective filing system.
- Strengthen accounting procedures, approval controls, and financial processes.
- Follow up with internal departments for missing approvals, invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Support external accountants, auditors, and government agencies as required.

Qualifications

- Minimum five years of progressive full-cycle accounting or senior bookkeeping experience.
- Strong accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable experience.
- Experience processing Canadian payroll and government remittances.
- Experience with GST/HST, CRA requirements, and WorkSafeBC reporting.
- Strong reconciliation, month-end, and financial reporting skills.
- Advanced QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience managing accounting for multiple companies.
- Strong understanding of documentation, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Accounting or finance education is preferred.
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation is an asset.
- Experience in wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses is strongly preferred.

- Accounts receivable aging remains controlled.
- Supplier payments are accurate, authorized, and properly supported.
- Payroll and government filings are completed accurately and on time.
- Bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations remain current.
- Cash flow risks are identified and communicated promptly.
- Month-end and year-end deadlines are consistently met.
- Inventory-related transactions are properly supported and reconciled.
- Financial records remain accurate, complete, organized, and audit-ready.
- Accounting issues are identified, investigated, and resolved quickly.

Pay: $62,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
