The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Push Cat Operator to support our scraper crews. In this role, you’ll be responsible for efficiently pushing scrapers to maximize productivity while maintaining a high standard of safety and communication on site.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a dozer (push cat) to assist scrapers during cut and fill operations.
- Maintain coordination with scraper operators to ensure efficient material movement.
- Read and follow grade stakes and site plans accurately.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with the earthworks crew, foremen, and site supervisors.
- Work safely and in compliance with company policies and site-specific procedures.
- Adapt to changing site conditions and support other tasks as needed.
Qualifications: Skills, Education, and Experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are important.
- Ability to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate with supervisor and other operators on the 2-way radio, and complete all required paperwork.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a dozer with scrapers.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction practices.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Be able to Safely work in a fast paced workplace with other equipment moving around you.
Willingness to work 10-12 hour shifts, including weekends, as required (weather permitting).
Special Demands:
- Operators will be exposed to constant vibrations and rough terrain, resulting in frequent jostling and body movements.
- Must be able to climb in and out of equipment multiple times per shift.
Job Types: Full time, Temporary
Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour
