ACCOUNTING CLERK
Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Central Precast was established in 1956 and began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility grew to include landscape, utility products, manholes, concrete poles, steps, barriers, and architectural panels. As the product line expanded, new companies were formed to focus on their specific industries, and The Precast Group was formed.
The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast Inc, MCON Products Inc and Utility Structures Inc. Our mission is to meet the demands of our customers and employees, under a safe working environment, where service and quality are at the forefront.
The Precast Group is currently looking for a full-time permanent Accounting Clerk to support their 3 locations in the Ottawa area.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk with 10 or more years of hands-on accounting experience to support day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently while supporting month-end and year-end processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the finance team. This role is expected to start in July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and vendor statements
- Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments
- Complete bank, pos register and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end activities
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Liaise with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Maintain accurate records of all automotive equipment for Insurance review
- Prepare accurate and timely contract billing in accordance with contract terms, pricing schedules, and billing milestones.
- Communicate with internal teams and clients regarding billing inquiries, disputes, and payment status and handle confidential information
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Dynamics, or similar)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational, communication and time-management skills
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Assets
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP
