6ix City Logistics is a new, independent Delivery Service Partner, serving customers from a facility in Vaughan, ON.

Job description

As a Delivery Associate (DA), you will deliver packages to homes, retail locations, and other delivery locations for 6ix City Logistics. In this position, you will play a key role in keeping our commitment to exceed clients’ expectations and make sure all the orders, large or small, are delivered on time at the right place. We are seeking mature, professional, responsible, eager, reliable and dependable driver associates (DA) who want to be a part of our customer and employee centric company.

General Responsibilities:

- Delivery Associates/Drivers drive a delivery van to drop off packages to customers within their community
- Plan on working about 2-3 days a week with a part time position & 4-6 days with a full time position (weekends and holidays included)
- Typical work day is 8 to 10 hours
- Conduct a pre & post trip vehicle inspection
- Follow strict safety standards on and off the road
- Use handheld technology to manage the delivery process and solve obstacles
- Ensure delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition at all times
- Maintain a clean and damage free van
- May assist in training other team members and help coworkers
- Follow designated safety protocol and procedures

Work Environment:





Drives a 6ix City Logistics branded high roof van (Ford Transit 250/Mercedes Sprinters or similar) to many customer residences and businesses, exit and enter the vehicle all throughout the day and walk up and down stairs as required to deliver packages according to established procedures in all weather conditions

Flexibility is key; routes may vary and may be delayed due to traffic from on road congestion, construction or other factors

Set core schedule, but there may be adjustments including additional hours and potential schedule changes depending on time of the year, peak seasons and other factors.

Basic Job Requirements:

- Must have a valid Ontario G driver's license for 2 years and in good standing (CDL not required)
- Complete and pass a Background check
- Canadian work authorization to work fulltime (valid work permit, permanent resident or Canadian citizen)
- High-School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to operate and navigate a large delivery van with a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 lbs. or less
- Must be able utilize a dolly, delivery helper and other provided tools to move, lift or push boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts up to 11 hours long
- Are physically capable of getting in and out of van every few minutes (up to 130 to 175 times/day)



to deliver up to 225-250 packages/day
- Capable of moving up and down stairs
- Must have the ability to effectively operate a GPS

Preferred Job requirements:

- Prior professional delivery experience
- Large vehicle driving experience is a must (AZ license preffered)
- Proven track record of reliability
- Excellent attention to detail with skill set to problem solve independently
- Ability to work with a team in a fast paced, ever changing workplace
- Self-motivated and able to work in a self-directed environment with an upbeat attitude
