- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum 3 years of recent Canadian Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
- CTAS, TNCC, ACLS, BGM, Basic Cardiac Rhythm, and IV Therapy certifications (required)
- Critical Care course/certification required for nurses providing ICU coverage
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 3 months with possibility of extension
- Significant emergency nursing experience with the ability to function independently is required
- ICU experience and the ability to provide ICU coverage is strongly preferred
- Must be available to work full-time hours (up to 20 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period) for the entire contract
- Must be willing to be cross-trained to Acute Continuing Complex Care (ACCC) and Medical/Surgical units to provide coverage

Responsibilities:
Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and provide safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood glucose monitoring,
and emergency interventions while monitoring patient responses
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure timely communication of changes in patient condition
- Adhere to healthcare regulations, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards while providing coverage across additional units as required
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.
Experience:
- 3 years of relevant Canadian emergency nursing experience (required)
- ICU experience is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in high-pressure situations
