Truck Driver Job Summary

Melai's Transport is looking for a Truck Driver to join their team. This position is responsible for driving and operating a Semi Truck. The driver will operate the truck in accordance with company policies, safety protocols, and local, provincial and federal laws while transporting cargo to and from customer locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Operate truck according to company policies and procedures
- Inspect vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues
- Report damage or defects to management using company equipment
- Comply with DOT regulations and company policies
- Keep truck clean and safe all times
- Report daily pre and post trip maintenance on vehicle to manager using company equipment (Motive devices)
- Maintain contact with customer base to ensure quality of service
- Complete daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle





The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, and do basic math skills. The right candidate will also be able to maintain a skilled appearance and be able to follow directions and have safety vest and boots all times at job. This position requires a consistent work schedule(Mostly Monday to Friday), as well as any hours left on elog for the week. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks requiring attention to detail.

What we require from you;

- Atleast 2 years commercial driving experience.
- Driver’s Abstract
- 2 references along with resume
- Criminal record check
- If would like to work as contractor then incorporation or Business related papers to add to company as contractor
- Atleast 2 years commitment to work
