We are looking for an experienced Data Consultant & Governance Specialist to design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide data governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will ensure data quality, compliance, security, and accessibility across the organization while advising on data strategy, analytics, and COTS-based solutions. This role involves working with stakeholders to optimize data usage and governance strategies while using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products to enhance data management capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and best practices aligned with business goals.
- Define and execute data strategies to improve data quality, accessibility, and compliance.
- Assess, recommend, and manage data governance platforms (Microsoft Purview, Atlan, Collibra, Qlik) to enhance data compliance and visibility.
- Lead data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tracking to improve accessibility and trust.
- Collaborate with data stewards, IT teams, and business leaders to define data ownership and stewardship roles.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Provide training and guidance on data governance frameworks and best practices to stakeholders.
- Evaluate data quality metrics and implement data cleansing and validation processes.
- Assist in the integration and optimization of data platforms,



warehouses, and lakes.
- Support data analytics initiatives by providing insights on data structures and reporting capabilities.
- Experience with AI/ML in governance and regulatory compliance trends is a plus.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (Microsoft Purview, Atlan, Collibra, Qlik).
- Strong understanding of data privacy laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tracking.
- Experience working with COTS-based data management solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications in data governance tools or frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
- Experience integrating COTS-based solutions with enterprise data platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data management solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Robust experience in building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
