Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patient health, and collaborate with our pharmacists and physicians to deliver optimal care. Company vehicles, phones, and supplies are provided.
This is a weekend position for Saturdays and Sundays with opportunities for casual shifts and future position growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, treatments, and dosages as prescribed by physicians and prepared daily by our pharmacy team. This may include oral/transdermal medications, insulin injections,
and eye/ear drop applications.
- Complete patient/clinical reports and documentation with accuracy.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and symptoms, as well as occasional routine clinical tasks, including wound care and dressing changes.
- Effective communication with patients, nursing staff, and pharmacy staff.
- Organizing and preparing patient files within pharmacy workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Active registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry and a valid BC Driver’s License.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
