How you will contribute as part of the Slaman’s team:

The Sales Team has day-to-day responsibility for supporting customers and fulfilling sales orders accurately and in a timely manner. The Sales Assistant is responsible for all sales activities on assigned accounts in a business to business sales environment. The role will track sales information, monitor email and phone communication, and maintain customer database and records. The Sales Assistant, under direction of the Sales Account Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day tasks of the sales department including accuracy of sales orders, supporting customers and coordinating product orders, and other tasks as they arise.

Responsibilities:

- Phone and email communication with customers to take, adjust and follow-up on order needs
- Daily tracking and inputting sales data, sales transactions from auction, production availability and client feedback into computer systems for manager review
- Administrative duties including record keeping,



inventory management, invoicing, and account reporting
- Filling orders and supporting other team members as needed
- Willingness to take on new tasks as they arise

What will you need to succeed:

Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

- No requirements but prior training or education is always an asset.

Experience

- Entry - level – 1-2 years prior experience an asset but not required

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

- Must be comfortable using email and Microsoft Office software with intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel and Word.
- Working ability with QuickBooks Desktop.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and team members.

POSITION DETAILS

Employment type: Full-Time

Duration of employment: Permanent after 3-month probation period

Hours of work: Approximately 40 hrs/week

Schedule: Monday to Friday with requirement to work some Saturdays, long weekends and extra hours during peak sales times or as required due to agriculture production.

Work Conditions: Cold environment – ready to ship product is stored and packed in a cooler with temperatures ranging from 2-6 degrees Celsius; Warm environment – Warehouse and Production Greenhouse may range in temperature throughout the seasons 15-35+ degrees Celsius.

Work location: In-person

Salary Range: $21.00-24.00 per hour; prior experience and skill set considered when setting salary
