Staff Pharmacist – Specialized Shipping & Operations

Location: Northwestern Ontario (Cottage Country Gateway)

Status: Permanent, Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Daytime Hours Only (Closed Weekends & Stat Holidays)

Compensation: $70.00 – $75.00/Hour (Based on experience) or Premium Contractor Rates

The Lifestyle: Live on the Edge of Adventure

Ready to trade gridlock for a breath of fresh air? Nestled in a vibrant waterfront region known for its breathtaking granite cliffs, endless boreal forests, and stunning views of Lake Superior, this community is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy a thriving local culinary scene, a low cost of living, and an effortless commute—all while being minutes away from world-class hiking, sailing, and skiing.

The Opportunity: A Specialized Pharmacy & Logistics Hub

Forget the monotonous retail grind. This is a highly sophisticated healthcare operation designed around structured logistics and specialized community care. Operating under a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free care model, the pharmacy manages three distinct, highly organized workflows:

- Remote Community Shipping (Primary Focus): A specialized, patient-free logistics operation managing daily medical shipments (primarily by air) to 13 remote First Nations communities. As a Staff Pharmacist in this role, your day-to-day focus will primarily center on managing, verifying, and orchestrating these critical prescription shipments.
- Addiction Services: A centralized, patient-free "transfer of custody" operation supporting roughly 7 regional clinics via secure courier networks, ensuring seamless rapid access to medication for substance use disorders.
- Boutique Front Shop & Clinic: A streamlined retail area focused strictly on walk-in patients from an on-site medical clinic,

featuring a limited OTC footprint so you can focus entirely on clinical consultations and expanded scope services.

The Team & Workflow Model

You will never feel stranded. The pharmacy operates on a robust, team-oriented three-pharmacist model daily:

- The Coverage: 1 Pharmacist dedicated to the Remote Shipping operation (your core focus), 1 Pharmacist dedicated to Addiction Services, and 1 Designated Manager anchoring the Front Shop and floating to support all areas.
- The Support: You are backed by 2 Registered Pharmacy Technicians (handling product checking and technical duties) and an elite team of approximately 20 Pharmacy Assistants.

Your Duties & Responsibilities

- Shipping & Logistics Oversight: Provide clinical verification and oversight for high-profile blister-pack and strip-pack shipping workflows.
- Accurate Dispensing: Verify and check prescriptions across specialized operational areas safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
- Clinical Services: Provide clinical services (medication reviews, minor ailments, and annual flu injections) under an evidence-based, patient-focused practice.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work seamlessly alongside a multidisciplinary CARE team consisting of physicians, nurses, and medical support staff to optimize patient outcomes and referrals.
- Safety Protocol: Ensure the safe handling and logistical tracking of controlled substances (Methadone/Suboxone) utilizing modern manifest and shipping software.

What You’ll Need to Have

- Licensure:

Part A Pharmacist Registration in valuable standing with the provincial college.
- Certifications: Valid Injection Certification, First Aid, and CPR (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Specialized Training: CAMH Opioid Dependence Treatment Certification is highly preferred (or required within 6 months of hire).
- Technical Skills: Experience using Kroll Pharmacy Software is preferred.
- Mindset: Robust multitasking abilities, organizational skills, and the unique capacity to handle a dynamic shipping pace while remaining calm and poised.
