About Us

At Sikheya, we support youth, newcomers, and international students by helping them build meaningful careers through mentorship, skill development, and real-world opportunities. We’re looking for a compassionate and organized Employer Advisor / Caseworker to guide applicants through resume building, career planning, and job readiness — helping them take confident steps toward employment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide 1-on-1 support for individuals needing help with:
- Resume and cover letter development
- Job searching and applications
- Interview preparation
- Understanding Canadian workplace culture
- Conduct career counselling sessions to help clients identify goals and explore career options
- Work with clients to develop action plans, track their progress, and follow up regularly
- Assist with job matching, connecting candidates with employers or suitable opportunities within our network
- Maintain accurate case notes and client records; manage application documentation and follow-up timelines
- Collaborate with Sikheya team, mentors, trainers,



and community partners to ensure wraparound support for clients
- Support and attend workshops or outreach events as needed (weekend availability will be required)

What We’re Looking For

- Background in social work, career development, employment services, or related fields with experience of 3+ years

(A diploma or degree in social work, human services, or career counselling is a strong asset)

- Experience working with youth, newcomers, or international students
- Knowledge of job market trends, employer expectations, and job readiness tools
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple cases at once with empathy and accountability
- Ability to understand and read Punjabi, Hindi, or Urdu.
