Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educator to join our team, committed to supporting the development and well-being of children in a educational setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in therapy centre environments, and possess strong research and case management skills. This role involves engaging with young students, providing educational support, and assisting with client care activities. The Educator will play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment while ensuring the safety and comfort of children under their care.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Education, Special Education, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education, or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) preferred.
- Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including social communication challenges, sensory processing differences, and executive functioning difficulties.
- Knowledge of developmental psychology, learning theories, and behavioural intervention strategies.

Key Skills and Competencies

- Ability to assess learning needs and develop individualized educational and behavioural support plans.
- Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s developmental and academic profile.
- Solid understanding of evidence-based intervention approaches such as ABA principles, reinforcement strategies, prompting and fading, task analysis,



and visual supports.
- Ability to support academic development in literacy, numeracy, comprehension, and problem-solving.
- Skilled in breaking down complex tasks into structured learning steps to support children with learning differences.
- Ability to adapt and teach the Canadian curriculum based on the individual learning needs of children with ASD.
- Knowledge of executive functioning strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and social skills development.
- Experience using data collection, behavioural observation, and progress monitoring to evaluate student progress.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with parents, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to provide parent coaching, psychoeducation, and progress updates.

Additional Requirements

- Valid driver’s license and willingness to conduct home sessions (if required).
- Flexible availability, including after-school hours or weekends, depending on client needs.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
