Senior Estimator

Department: Finance
Reports to: General Business Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting our Sales and Client Services teams by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across all areas of the business.

The Senior Estimator will bring a strong understanding of production processes, costing, and supplier relationships, while also providing guidance and support to members of the estimating team. This is a collaborative role that works closely with multiple departments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in our estimating practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on job specifications provided by Sales, Client Services, and leadership

- Review and interpret RFQs, working with internal teams to clarify requirements as needed

- Collaborate with Sales and Client Services to identify cost-effective solutions and provide recommendations to clients

- Price production work using established estimating criteria, and support pricing for non-standard work in collaboration with leadership

- Source materials and services, including obtaining pricing and timelines from external suppliers

- Maintain and update pricing structures, supplier information, and estimating data to ensure consistency and accuracy

- Work with internal teams (Business Analyst, Production, etc.) to ensure estimating systems reflect current equipment, speeds, and capabilities

- Monitor estimated vs. actual job costs and support continuous improvement initiatives





- Provide guidance and coaching to Estimating team members

- Build and maintain solid relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery

- Support proposal development to ensure completeness and accuracy

- Maintain organized records of estimates and proposals for future reference

What You Bring

- Experience in estimating, within the print industry (required)

- Knowledge of print production processes (press, bindery, graphics) is an asset

- Strong understanding of costing, purchasing, and production processes

- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and estimating software

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

- Demonstrated ability to support, coach, and guide team members
