Job Title: Camp Counselor at Preschool Camp

As a camp counsellor at AVM, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of the children in your care.

Job Summary: We are seeking a responsible and energetic camp counselor to join our preschool summer camp program. The counselor will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading age-appropriate activities for children ages 18 months to 6 years. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with young children, and be able to provide a safe and positive camp experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including crafts, games, songs, and stories
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being




- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress and activities
- Assist with set-up and clean-up of camp activities and facilities
- Enforce camp rules and behavior expectations in a positive and constructive manner
- Address any concerns or issues that arise with campers, parents, or fellow staff members
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience working with young children in a camp, daycare, or preschool is required.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with children and adults
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Ability to pass a background check.

Working Conditions:

- This is a seasonal position, with hours based on camp schedule

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

- Maple, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
