Band Saw Machine Operator - Cambridge

We are recruiting for an immediate employment opportunity which has the potential to become a permanent full time position.

Our Cambridge client, one of the world's leading providers of testing, calibration and advisory services, is recruiting for a Band Saw Operator. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Band Saw Operator will set up, maintain and operate production machinery, primarily band saws. Could include operating a small shear drill press, CNC equipment, benches, vises, hammers, hacksaws, files, chisels etc, to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. Key duties would include monitoring equipment, performing quality checks on finished products, troubleshooting issues, and adhering strictly to safety regulations. The successful worker will be proficient in a number of core business skills, including but not limited to, compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct and company policies and procedures.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

- 2+ years of work experience in a quick paced production environment
- Understanding of machine functions and tools
- Ability to spot minor flaws and maintain high quality standards.
- Able to collaborate with team members and report issues effectively.
- Computer skills
- Organized and self motivated
- Attention to detail
- Work flow skilled
- Quick learner
- Adaptable and works well under deadlines
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 30lbs unassisted
- Steel toed shoes
- Safety glasses
- Have a clear criminal background and credit check
