Based in Sudbury, Ontario, Compass is the Lead Agency for child & youth mental health services for the districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. Reporting to the Supervised Access Program Supervisor/Coordinator, the Supervised Access Worker will provide supervision for children and their parents in a child friendly, neutral environment to visit or exchange, in compliance with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services guidelines and standards.

DUTIES:

· Facilitate safe arrival and departure of children re exchange or visit

· Facilitate access visits

· Open and close the access centre, including set up and take down of equipment

· Inspect and/or clean equipment, toys, as well as the access centre to ensure health and safety standards

· Record objective, accurate, and factual observations of visits and exchanges in observation notes





· Complete all required agency forms as per policies and guidelines

· Participate in Compass sponsored research, as directed

· Participate in conferences, seminars and workshops when possible

· To read current journals and other literature related to the field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Successful completion of diploma from an accredited college in social services or related human services degree or diploma.

· Valid First Aid/CPR will be required.

· CPI certificate will be required.

· AODA certificate will be required (training provided)

· Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 steps certificate (training provided)

· SAP E-Module certifications as laid out by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (Specific to Access Workers).

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills in French are considered a strong asset.

Successful applicants will be required to provide:

· Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

· A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on vehicle as per policy

· Recent Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
