Join the Bakery team as a Sanitation Worker and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across our facilities. Your efforts will ensure that all areas are properly sanitized, debris is promptly removed, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Location: Eglinton Ave East and Victoria Park
Schedule: The schedule will vary during the cross-training period
Standard shifts may start anytime between 5:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in various areas of the facility
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated containers and disposal sites
- Use commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers safely and effectively
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and thoroughly
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly for resolution
- Adhere to safety guidelines and proper use of cleaning chemicals to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience
- Prior cleaning experience preferred, especially in industrial settings
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, tools, and commercial cleaning products is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving equipment or supplies
