About the role :

Reporting to the Shop & Equipment Manager, the incumbent will apply their journeyman-level expertise to perform complex mechanical work, including the repair, maintenance, inspection, and testing of pumps and related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting issues, ensuring equipment meets operational standards, maintaining accurate documentation (e.g., work orders, test reports, inspection records), and supporting shop efficiency through effective parts organization and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform repair and maintenance on pumps, motors, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems (troubleshoot)
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble pump components and systems
- Perform pump testing to verify performance, efficiency, and compliance with specifications
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date detailed documentation, including test reports, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history
- Organize and manage parts inventory, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and stock levels
- Identify and order required parts and materials as needed
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop workspace
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself professionally




- Safe and professional work practices are mandatory

Qualifications:

- Journeyman certification (Mandatory)
- Red Seal is an asset.
- Two years verifiable mechanic experience.
- Ability to weld is a strong asset
- Grade 12 graduate or High School Diploma
- Full understanding of all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies, and generally accepted work practices.
- Full understanding of all elements of the job (i.e.: shop safety, shop work practices, mechanical systems, use of all hand and power tools)
- Basic computer skills is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a shop environment
- A proactive self-starter who is resourceful and able to work independently.
- Willing and able to work and travel in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract and proven experience safely towing trailers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40.00-$42.00 per hour
