Lynn Valley Martial Arts is a friendly, community-focused dojo offering a fun and active after-school program for children ages 5–12. We combine martial arts, games, sports, and creative activities in a protected, supportive setting where kids can build confidence, learn important life skills, make friends, and have fun.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and positive team member to join our after-school program. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, enjoys being active, and has an interest in martial arts, coaching, teaching, or youth programs.

The successful candidate will help create a fun, structured, and welcoming afternoon experience for our students. Responsibilities include walking children from nearby schools to our dojo, leading activities, supervising students, and supporting our martial arts instructors.

This is a consistent Monday to Friday position from 2:30 PM–5:00 PM and is perfect for a student or someone looking for reliable part-time afternoon hours.

For the right candidate, this role has the opportunity to grow into a larger instructor position within our team.

Candidates with martial arts experience, coaching experience, or a passion for teaching may have opportunities to assist with and eventually lead martial arts classes, camps, PD days, and other programs.

Martial arts experience is an asset, but a great attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

What You’ll Do

- Safely walk children from nearby schools to the dojo
- Lead and participate in games, crafts, sports, and group activities




- Support martial arts classes and assist instructors with younger students
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, respect, and positive behaviour
- Supervise children and help create a safe, inclusive environment
- Help set up and clean up program areas
- Communicate positively with parents and team members

What We’re Looking For

- Must be 19 years or older and legally able to work in Canada
- Available Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM–5:00 PM (this schedule is firm)
- Experience working with school-age children in a group setting (camps, recreation programs, coaching, teaching, childcare, etc.)
- Experience leading activities, teaching, coaching, or running camps is an asset
- Martial arts experience is an asset, but not required
- Comfortable being active, engaging, and participating alongside children
- Friendly, patient, dependable, and a strong team player
- Criminal Record Check required (we will guide you through the process)
