REPRESENTING MORE THAN 47,000 MEMBERS, the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is the skilled organization responsible for establishing standards for the training, certification, and lifelong education of family physicians and for advocating on behalf of the specialty of family medicine, family physicians, and their patients. The CFPC accredits postgraduate family medicine training in Canada’s 18 medical schools.
The CFPC is seeking a respected family physician leader to provide independent oversight of administrative reviews, reconsiderations, and decision-making activities across the Professional Standards and Certification (PSC) in Family Medicine Division.
Administrative Reviews Director
Reporting to the Executive Director, Professional Standards and Certification in Family Medicine, the Administrative Reviews Director serves as an impartial safeguard that promotes procedural fairness, consistency, transparency, and integrity in the application of standards, policies, and processes related to certification, accreditation, assessment, and professional development.
The Director provides expert advice to leadership and committees, oversees the resolution of complex and sensitive matters, and identifies opportunities to strengthen decision-making frameworks, risk controls, and organizational practices. This includes addressing matters involving certification eligibility, test accommodations, examination standings, Certificates of Added Competence, and continuing professional development, as well as working with Legal Services and departmental leaders to identify policy or process gaps and recommend corrective action.
The successful candidate will be a respected family physician (CCFP) with extensive experience in professional standards, certification, and administrative decision-making within a complex healthcare environment. They will bring exceptional judgment, integrity, and diplomacy, with a demonstrated ability to resolve complex matters fairly,
consistently, and transparently. A team-oriented and influential leader, the new Director will possess outstanding analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a deep understanding of family medicine and the Canadian healthcare system. The role requires a CCFP certification, and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience with bilingualism (English and French) preferred. The administrative time commitment is 0.2FTE.

The salary range for this 0.2 FTE position is $36,863.52 – $46,079.28. This role is based in Mississauga, and the successful candidate may have the ability to work remotely in accordance with the Organization’s policies and procedures dealing with remote and/or hybrid work arrangements in effect from time-to-time. Our current hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Eastern Time.
This is a new role for the organization with an expected appointment in fall 2026.
