The award winning Aegir Room in the award winning Oswego Hotel is seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support the smooth operation of our restaurant or hospitality establishment. This role is vital in ensuring a hygienic environment and supporting food service operations. Prior experience in food handling, restaurant, or hotel settings is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. The Dishwasher will work closely with kitchen staff to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.
MUST be available to work nights Wed-Sun from 5pm-11:30pm
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and surrounding areas to ensure health and safety standards are met
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and cleaning workstations
- Ensure proper handling and storage of clean dishes and utensils for productive workflow
- Follow all safety protocols related to chemical use and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support overall food service operations
- Manage dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, food handling, and sanitation standards is advantageous
- Experience with kitchen equipment or food preparation tasks can be beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role
