The Finance Assistant position is a full time, permanent, on site position at our Head Office located in Scoudouc, NB. Scoudouc is located approximately 15km from Moncton. Job Summary

The Finance Assistant supports daily financial operations with a heavy focus on backing up both the product costing and payroll administration functions. In this role, you will ensure accurate tracking of material costs unique to mattress manufacturing. You will also serve as the primary backup for the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring production workers are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Support & Backup

- Process hourly payroll for production workers, including group insurance and RRSP deductions and remittances.
- Maintain employee records regarding deductions, benefits, taxes, and direct deposit setups.
- Step in seamlessly to execute full-cycle payroll during the Payroll Administrator’s absence.
- Resolve staff inquiries regarding paychecks, leave balances, and tax forms.

Costing & Inventory Support

- Update & prepare bill of materials (BOM) in the system.



This will be both as backup to the Costing Assistant in their absence and assisting day to day.
- Update cost fluctuations as directed.
- Maintain & review system variables as directed.

General Accounting Duties

· Provide overall support for AP, AR & Customer Service.

- Match supplier invoices for raw materials with purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Assist month-end closing by preparing and/or entering journal entries and account analysis.
- Generate sales analysis reports as requested.
- Ad hoc reporting as requested.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Excel Skills: Intermediate to advanced capabilities.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy needed.
