Job Prospect: Live-out Person Support Worker (PSW) – Port Hope
Schedule: 2 to 3 days per week – Shifts vary (8am to 2pm or 2pm to 8pm or 8pm to 8am)
Compensation: $23 per hour
Environment: Pet (Cat), non-smoking home
Role Overview
Cardinal Nannies & Caregivers Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality, one-on-one care for an elderly couple with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s in Port Hope. This role is ideal for those who excel in prioritizing a client’s dignity, safety, and comfort within their own home.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assistance that encompasses all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). We are looking for a Caregiver/PSW who is not only skilled in clinical support but is also committed to maintaining a clean, nutritious, and supportive living setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care (ADLs): Provide full assistance with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing/undressing, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Assist with safe transfers if needed.
- Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a tidy and hazard-free home.
- Nutritious Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs and preferences.
- Safe Environment: Maintain a clean and comfortable atmosphere that promotes the client’s overall well-being and independence.
- Transportation: Assist with taking to and from appointments, to run errands and to purchase groceries for the home. Driver with a car is required.
Requirements
- Valid PSW Certificate preferred
- Valid Full G Driver’s License required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly compassionate.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience in supporting clients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s is an asset
