Reliable Equipment Rentals Ltd. provides aerial equipment rentals and services to valued customers throughout southwestern British Columbia.
We are looking for level 3/4 apprentice to to perform skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various types of high-reach equipment.
Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM
$32.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience, skills, and qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform mechanical repairs on heavy-duty equipment in the shop
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot defects in heavy-duty machinery
- Perform electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety switches, engines, and other mechanical components
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and safety
- Inspect, repair, and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
- Install and align engines and machinery
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports, service records, and documentation
- Track and report on completed repairs and ongoing maintenance requirements
- Respond to road calls and on-site service requests when required
- Work cooperatively with team members to provide seamless service to internal and external customers
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, reduce turnaround times, and streamline work processes
- Maintain knowledge of new technologies, repair techniques, and industry best practices
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance standards (WorkSafeBC)
- Promote a safety-first mindset in all shop and field operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Relevant experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy-duty equipment
- Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
- Physically capable of performing hands-on work in shop and field settings
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Team-oriented with robust communication skills
- Committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
- Safety-conscious and proactive in identifying potential hazards
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Experience, Training, Certification and Education:
- 2+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to noise, grease, heavy machinery, and outdoor conditions
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing
- Occasional overtime may be requested
- Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
- Exposure to typical hazards associated with equipment service and mechanical trades
- Work performed in both indoor shop environments and outdoor field conditions
- May be requested to work on active construction and industrial job sites
