We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to join the acute care teams at Southeast Alabama Health in Dothan, Alabama. Opportunities are available in the Emergency Department (ER), Medical-Surgical (MS), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Behavioral Health (Psych). Shift times will vary based on start date and unit availability.

Requirements

- Canadian RN license (LPN does not qualify)
- 2+ years of current experience in one of the following specialties:
- Emergency Department (ER)
- Medical-Surgical (MS)
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nursing (Psych)
- Canadian citizenship (for U.S. TN visa eligibility)

Duties

- Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients within the assigned specialty unit while adhering to hospital policies and professional nursing standards
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized nursing care plans, administer medications and treatments, and continually evaluate patient responses
- Monitor and document patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, case managers,



and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and disease prevention strategies to support positive health outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards
- Respond effectively to emergency situations by utilizing sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and appropriate life-saving interventions within the scope of practice
- Ensure patient safety by following infection prevention protocols, medication administration standards, fall prevention initiatives, and quality improvement practices
- Serve as a patient advocate by promoting dignity, privacy, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered care throughout the hospitalization
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote professional growth and exceptional patient outcomes

Specialty Responsibilities

Emergency Department (ER)

- Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with urgent, emergent, and traumatic conditions while prioritizing care based on acuity
- Initiate emergency interventions, administer medications, assist with life-saving procedures, and coordinate care during medical emergencies

Medical-Surgical (MS)





- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions before and after medical or surgical treatment
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient education to promote safe transitions of care

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

- Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill or medically complex patients requiring continuous monitoring and specialized interventions
- Manage ventilators, invasive monitoring devices, vasoactive medications, and other critical care therapies while collaborating closely with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams

Behavioral Health (Psych)

- Assess patients experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health conditions while providing therapeutic communication and crisis intervention
- Administer psychiatric medications, monitor patient safety, assist with behavioral treatment plans, and collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and behavioral health professionals to support recovery
