Transportation Planner Specialist II

Job Overview

The Transportation Planner Specialist II is responsible for driving tasks to completion and mentoring junior staff. This role requires a heightened level of autonomy and strong business acumen.

Essential Functions

- Drive tasks to completion amidst ambiguity.

- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on project management.

- Collaborate across functions to achieve business objectives.

- Engage in problem-solving and analytical thinking to address challenges as they arise.

- Manage transportation from origin to destination for clinical trial materials and other pharmaceutical products.

- Track and trace shipments across assigned lanes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to routing plans.

- Monitor carrier performance and resolve transportation-related issues.

- Develop and maintain routing strategies and lead-time management in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

- Work closely with Clinical Supply Planning, Master Planning, Clinical Operations, Logistics, Trade Compliance, and external partners.

- Support initiatives and projects as a functional area expert (SME) for transportation processes.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree Degree in a science or business function or equivalent experience.

- 2-3+ Years related industry experience in Clinical Trials or Pharmacy (preferred).

- 2-3+ Years related experience in Clinical Supplies – this could be from Supply Chain, Packaging, Distribution or IRT functions.

- Ability to demonstrate good project management skills.





- Ability to create effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to demonstrate effective communication and direction.

- Ability to problem solve.

- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).

- Proficient in the English language.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $51,000.00 - $127,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other advantages.
