The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dependable and safety-focused Concrete Plant Operator / Batcher to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. In this role, you’ll operate a ready-mix plant to ensure quality concrete production is provided to construction and industrial job sites across Northwestern Ontario. This position is well-suited to someone with a civil technician/technologist background who takes pride in their equipment, values clear communication with dispatch and site crews, and understands the importance of timeliness, safety, and attention to detail. Your Day-to-Day

- Mix and monitor concrete according to specific requirements and quality standards.
- Operate batching equipment to load trucks for transportation ensuring that all materials are loaded correctly and in the proper quantity.
- Maintain accurate logs of batch quantities, materials used, and other relevant records.
- Performing daily plant inspections and coordinating daily toolbox talks.
- Perform material testing and sampling to ensure product quality.
- Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of standing throughout the workday
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:





- Prior experience working in concrete and/or aggregate industries
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Considered an Asset:

- Relevant post-secondary education such as a degree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related field
- Experience working in batch & command series is an asset
- A valid G driver's license is an asset

Skills & Abilities:

- Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third-party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC), and any other requirements they impose on contractors)
- Proficiency in using batching software
- Familiar with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations.
- Ability to handle multiple on-the-go tasks and appropriately prioritize based on operational needs
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Compensation & Benefits:

- Pay: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
