ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Bredin Centre for Career Advancement is a non-for-profit, government-funded organization that provides responsive services that empower and connect people to fully contribute to our community through creative pathways to education and employment. This full time, in-office role supports our Finance team with administrative and full-cycle accounting activities and contributes to the accuracy, efficiency, and organization of our general operations.

Key responsibilities include:

· Monitoring shared mailboxes, including responding to inquiries and following up on outstanding items

· Supporting month-end processes including year-end audit preparation activities

· Assisting with monthly program-level financial reporting and analysis

· Providing data entry and administrative support for payroll & HR processes and related documentation

· Coordinating IT‑related administrative tasks and tracking progress to completion

· Helping maintain organized, professional, and welcoming office environment

· Maintaining files, records, and documentation in an organized, audit‑ready manner

· Contributing to continuous improvement of administrative and finance processes





· Providing additional administrative and accounting support as required

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Shared Services, the ideal candidate will be highly organized and works best in a busy environment while managing multiple priorities. In addition to strong accounting and administrative acumen, the successful candidate will contribute positively to a collaborative and professional workplace culture.

Desired qualifications and attributes include:

· 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience

· Post-secondary certificate in Accounting and/or Business Administration

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint; experience with QuickBooks or other accounting/ERP systems

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

· High level of discretion with confidential information

· Commitment to continuous learning, initiative and stewardship

· Approachable, self-aware and comfortable communicating internally and externally while maintaining a professional approach in both one-to-one and group settings

· Motivated self-starter who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
