Fleet Manager – Motorcoach Operations

Position Summary

Blue Bus Line is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, compliance, reliability, and operational readiness of its motorcoach fleet.

The Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring that all fleet vehicles are safe, reliable, compliant, clean, and available to support scheduled passenger services.

The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Drivers, Shop Personnel, senior management, external repair facilities, parts suppliers, and roadside service providers.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily maintenance and operational readiness of the motorcoach fleet.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with NSC, CVIP, provincial transportation regulations, and interprovincial operating standards.
- Coordinate fleet availability with Operations and Dispatch.
- Review vehicle inspection reports, defects, diagnostics, and repair requirements.
- Ensure safety defects and maintenance concerns are addressed promptly.
- Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate work with external repair vendors.
- Manage roadside breakdowns, towing, emergency repairs, and vehicle recovery.
- Monitor maintenance costs, vehicle utilization, breakdown frequency, and fleet performance.
- Maintain accurate inspection, repair, registration, insurance, and compliance records.
- Manage relationships with repair facilities, parts suppliers,



and roadside service providers.
- Prepare fleet performance reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum three years of fleet management experience in commercial transportation.
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic certification.
- Valid Passenger Vehicle CVIP Inspection Licence.
- Strong knowledge of National Safety Code and CVIP requirements.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong mechanical, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet-management software.
- Valid Class 1, 2, or 3 driver’s licence with Air Brake Q Endorsement.
- Clean driver’s abstract.

Preferred Qualifications

- Motorcoach or highway coach fleet-management experience.
- Experience with Prevost or similar highway coaches.
- Experience managing interprovincial transportation fleets.
- Knowledge of Motive, Geotab, or similar telematics platforms.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, warranties, parts, and external vendors.
