RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ability to proficiently operate heavy equipment such as loaders, graders, dozers, zoom boom, skid steer, and excavators etc in a safe and appropriate manner.
· Perform pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safe/reliable condition
· Adhere to all company and workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances, identify defects in heavy equipment, communicate any unsafe conditions, incidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting
· Report all incidents, near-misses and damages to the equipment to site supervision
· Ability to identify hazards
· Must be dependable and reliable
· Accurate completion of all required logs/ safety documentation
Qualifications
· 3-5 years of experience for dozer, excavator, grader operators, skid steer, etc
· Experience working in civil earthworks is preferred
· A valid Driver’s License
· Clear driver's abstract (no longer than 3 months old)
· Excellent understanding of equipment safety and work practices
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
· Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
· Ability to access all sites within the Wood Buffalo region
· Ability to work in the Wood Buffalo region and able to work rotational schedules
· CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
· Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive and First Aid are considered an asset
· Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test and physical screening
