I am a Western Canadian based Mortgage Broker seeking a licensed mortgage underwriter to join my team. Position is part time leading to full-time Monday-Friday 9-5. An ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5-7 years in the mortgage industry, ideally on both the lender and broker side.

Skills Include -
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be actively communicating with clients, lenders, realtors, appraisers, lawyers and other industry professionals and partners.
- Ability to assess credit and know which lending product to use in each situation to best meet the client's needs is a bonus.
- Preferred some understanding of B lending, private lending & commercial lending.
- Highly proficient on email, MS Office, Filogix and Velocity (would be a bonus)
- Must thrive in fast-paced environments and have stress management skills.
- Great time management skills, attention to detail and prioritization of tasks.
- Independent thinking skills, and the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions under normal circumstances.
- A high level of integrity and professionalism.
- A High level of underwriting and product knowledge




- Fluent in verbal and written English.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall administration and underwriting of deals from start to finish
- Manage files once at underwriting to support the underwriting centre through to completion
- Prepare and evaluation of preapprovals for borrowers and send preapproval packages to clients
- Proficient use of email templates to email borrowers for updates and information
- Communicate and liase between all parties involved in the completion of each mortgage transaction.

General Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience - if no experience please do not apply.
- Must be a licensed broker with BCSFA in British Columbia
- Resident of BC is preferred
- Compensation will commensurate with experience.

Salary: $50,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
The position is work from home, however there will be some train in person for the first few months and at times in future you will need to work in office.
