Mill Valley Child Care Centre is looking for a part time assistant 3:00-6:00 Monday to Friday. Full time hours may be available on PA days, March Break and the summer months.

Qualifications:

- ECA: Previous experience with young children in a group setting
- Knowledge of CCEYA, 2014, Early Learning Framework, How Does Learning Happen? and Emergent/Inquiry-based program, an asset.
- Experience with the Toronto Children's Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), an asset
- Recent (within 6 months) Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Physically able to participate in program with children inside and outside the classroom.
- Sensitive and inclusive to the children and families’ needs.
- Able to work well within a team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
- Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
- Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Well-developed problem-solving,



conflict resolution skills and good judgement
- Self-directed with proven commitment to contribute to the team
- Inclusive and sensitive to the children’s and families’ needs
- Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom
- Guide children's behaviour in a positive manner and at a level that is appropriate to their actions and their ages in order to promote self discipline, ensure health and safety and respect the right of others
- Ensure that all facilities, supplies and equipment are kept clean, safe and free of hazards
- Set up and put away all equipment used during the course of the program, keeping everything tidy
- Follow cleaning guidelines
- Assist in children's toileting needs

Qualifications

- Transparent Criminal Reference check
- Up-to-date Medical and Immunization
- Up-to-date Standard First Aid & CPR AED +C

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
