Position Title: Instructor – Mental Health & Addictions Program

About the Role

Herzing College is seeking a qualified and passionate Mental Health & Addictions Instructor to teach in our diploma program. The ideal candidate will be CACCF-certified (or eligible) and bring solid academic knowledge, professional experience, and a student-centered teaching approach to support learners entering the helping professions.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver course content in alignment with the approved curriculum, learning outcomes, and Ministry standards
- Facilitate engaging lectures, discussions, case studies, and practical skill-building activities
- Provide academic support, mentorship, and constructive feedback to students
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, exams, and practical evaluations
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records
- Participate in program meetings, instructor training, and quality assurance activities
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, trauma-informed learning environment

Qualifications

✅ CACCF Certified (CCAC, ICCAC,



CSAC, or related designation) – required
✅ Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mental health, addictions, counselling, community support, or related field
✅ Diploma or degree in Psychology, Social Work, Addictions, Mental Health, or a related discipline (Bachelor's preferred; Master’s an asset)
✅ Teaching or training experience in a post-secondary or adult learning workplace preferred
✅ Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, case management, concurrent disorders, crisis intervention, ethics, and community resources
✅ Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
✅ Ability to work collaboratively with academic and student services teams

Assets

- Experience working in private career colleges
- Understanding of PCC & Ministry compliance requirements
- Experience with LMS platforms and blended learning delivery
- Memberships in related professional associations

Job Types: Full-time, Freelance

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
