Schedule: Monday to Friday, with overtime as required
Overtime: Paid after 44 hours per week
Location: Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and surrounding GTA

Mercanti Electric Ltd. is a growing electrical contractor based in Hamilton. We provide electrical construction, service and maintenance throughout Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and the GTA.

Our work includes commercial and industrial service, renovations, tenant improvements, multi-unit conversions, service upgrades, electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, EV charging, data and troubleshooting.

We are looking for a licensed 309A Journeyperson Electrician who wants steady work, greater responsibility and the opportunity to grow alongside the company.

The Opportunity

This is not a position where you will be treated as another number.

You will work directly with the owner and become an important part of a growing team. The right person will have input into how jobs are planned and completed and will have the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities as the company expands.

We are looking for someone capable of completing high-quality work independently while representing Mercanti Electric professionally with customers, contractors and other trades.

Responsibilities

- Complete commercial and industrial electrical service work.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Complete service upgrades, panel changes and distribution work.




- Work on commercial renovations and tenant improvements.
- Complete residential renovations and multi-unit conversions.
- Install lighting systems, controls and EV-charging equipment.
- Complete fire-alarm rough-in and installation.
- Install data and low-voltage infrastructure.
- Read electrical drawings and complete layouts.
- Determine material and labour requirements for assigned work.
- Identify potential jobsite issues before they cause delays.
- Coordinate with customers, general contractors and other trades.
- Direct apprentices and review their workmanship.
- Communicate job progress, changes and completed work.
- Maintain clean, organized and safe jobsites.
- Complete work efficiently without sacrificing quality or safety.

Requirements

- Valid Ontario 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician licence.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Robust knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.




- Ability to read electrical drawings and complete layouts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic hand tools.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to perform the physical duties normally associated with electrical construction and service work.

Experience with commercial service, service upgrades, renovations, fire alarm, controls or industrial electrical work is considered an asset.
