**Job Title: Band Saw Operator**

**Location - Calgary**

**Shift - Days Mon - Fri 6am - 3.30pm**

**Wage - $22-25/hr.**

**Job Description**

The Band Saw Operator primarily runs a vertical band saw to perform angle cuts on structural steel while also handling materials, assisting the welding team, operating a sit-down forklift, and performing general cleanup duties.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate a vertical band saw for approximately 80% of the workday to perform angle cuts on structural steel components such as C channel, I-beam, and other steel objects.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and bills of material to determine correct measurements, angles, and cutting requirements.
+ Handle and move pipe, raw metal, and finished product throughout the facility using appropriate material handling methods and equipment.
+ Use jib cranes to safely lift, position, and move heavy steel objects and structural components.
+ Drive and operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials and products within the production area.

**Essential Skills**

+ At least 2 years of experience operating a band saw in a production or industrial workplace.
+ Hands-on experience with metal and pipe cutting, including working with structural steel such as C channel and I-beam.
+ Proficiency in general machine operation and safe use of hand and power tools in a production setting.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and bills of material to perform accurate cuts and material preparation.
