Position Summary

Luso Canadian Charitable Centres is seeking a compassionate, dependable and team-oriented Program Aide to support adults with developmental and physical disabilities in our Adult Day Program. Working alongside Program Facilitators, Personal Support Workers and the Centre Manager, the Program Aide helps create a safe, engaging and inclusive setting that promotes participant independence, dignity and community inclusion.

Schedule

· Luso operates Adult Day Programs, Monday to Friday

· Day shifts

Reporting To

Centre Manager

Key Responsibilities

· Support participants during daily activities, meal times and recreational programming.

· Assist Program Facilitators with planning and delivering daily activities.

· Facilitate group and individual activities that encourage communication, social interaction and skill development.

· Maintain clean, safe and organized program areas, including activity rooms, kitchen and washrooms.

· Complete incident and seizure reports accurately and on the day of occurrence, reporting concerns promptly to the Program Supervisor or Centre Manager.

· Become familiar with each participant’s support needs, history and goals.

· Monitor and report changes in participant health,



behaviour or well-being the same day they are observed.

· Assist the Personal Support Worker team with personal care as required, including changing and hygiene support.

· Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training.

· Follow all Luso policies, procedures, emergency protocols and health and safety requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Experience supporting individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities is an asset.

· Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (required).

· Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months).

· Knowledge of participant health and safety practices.

· Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
