Q Dermatology + Aesthetics Centre is a Dermatology specialist clinic located in Langley, BC. We are looking for a full-time Medical Office Assistant to help with the day-to-day administrative tasks in our office. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working qualified who is able to undertake a variety of office support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion, as well as incorporating current and effective ways to achieve better results.
Role Overview
The primary function of the Medical Office Assistant is to provide an exceptional client experience and has practical experience utilizing these skills in the dermatology, aesthetics, or medical field. This role is also accountable for ensuring all guests receive exceptional experience in our facility, verifying patient demographic information, taking payments, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility.
Role Objectives:
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and making calls.
- Creating and maintaining records using office filing systems and systems for electronic medical records.
- Support doctors and other health care professionals by performing necessary administrative tasks and minor medical duties as requested.
- May be asked to assist the medical team with additional tasks such as rooming patients, taking histories,
and assisting with procedures in a limited capacity.
- Perform duties associated with UV Phototherapy, including rooming patients, charting visits, and reviewing safety protocols.
- Managing patient files including correspondence, scheduling appointments, and coordinating lab orders.
- Perform appointment bookings, reminders, and follow-up calls.
- Answering basic questions about our practice including answering patient questions regarding services rendered, doctor appointments, and procedures performed.
- Educate customers on products and services provided by the clinic
- Filing documents in appropriate areas of the medical office, including but not limited to EMR, EMR for faxing, EMR for scanning, patient notes, billing records, etc.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the medical office including but not limited to: bathrooms, waiting rooms, and exam rooms.
- Sanitizing the instruments used by doctors through autoclave.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) with knowledge of e-mail programs such as Hotmail or Gmail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
