Key responsibilities

1. Peer Support & Family Engagement

- Provide one-on-one peer support to family members of individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges
- Offer guidance, emotional support and, resource navigation to family members.
- Refer families to appropriate mental health, addictions, or emergency services when needed.
- Collaborate with SHA intake teams, family service Saskatchewan, Al-Anon, treatment facilities, and other CBOs to build a referral network.

2. Program Coordination

- Lead the development and delivery of family-centered mental health and addiction support services and programs tailored to the needs of the Saskatoon community. Including existing SSS programming like Family Recovery Journey, Family Support Group, and more.
- Facilitate and coordinate programs for both family members and individuals with lived experience.
- Collect and analyze feedback from programs participants.
- Contribute to ongoing evaluation of program efficacy.
- Report on outcomes and improvements to the Executive Director, funders and stakeholders.

3. Website & Resource Development

- Co-develop and maintain a dedicated family support network website
- Create and update content including manuals, guides, and program information.
- Collaborate with families and clients to ensure resources are relevant and user-informed.
- Ensure the website is a "one-stop-shop" for families seeking support.

4.Partnership & Outreach

Build strong relationships with:

- Indigenous organizations and elders




- SHA mental Health & Addictions team
- Local treatment centers and shelters
- Community- based organizations (ex. OutSaskatoon, CMHA Saskatoon and more)
- Create a referral network that reflects saskatoon's urban and surrounding rural realities.
- Promote awareness of the Family Support network across Saskatchewan.

5. Office Administration

- This position will have additional office administration duties that will include but not limited to: Printing services for the Saskatoon office, answering phone calls and general inquiry emails, managing and ordering supplies for the office staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

Lived experience as a family member of someone with mental health/Addictions challenges.

- Understanding of recovery-oriented care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, or other Health Sciences) is a benefit not a requirement.
