Experienced Groundsman/woman

Seasonal Full-Time | 30–40 Hours/Week | $25.00–$30.00/hour

Horizon Tree Company Inc is a rapidly growing, family-owned arboriculture company serving residential, commercial, municipal, and utility clients throughout Simcoe County, Muskoka, and surrounding communities. The Groundsman is responsible for supporting arborists and equipment operators in all aspects of tree care operations while maintaining a safe, productive, and organized work site. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist arborists with tree removals, pruning, rigging, and technical tree care operations.

- Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other arboriculture equipment safely and efficiently.

- Manage ropes, lowering devices, and worksite communication during tree removal operations.

- Process brush and wood debris while maintaining an organized and productive work area.

- Complete daily equipment inspections and assist with routine maintenance of trucks, trailers, and equipment.

- Maintain a clean, professional job site while providing exceptional customer service.

- Follow all company safety policies, daily tailboard procedures, and industry best practices.

- Participate in emergency storm response and after-hours callouts as required.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the arboriculture industry.

-Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.

- Ability to safely operate chainsaws and arboriculture equipment.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, dragging, loading,



climbing over uneven terrain, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Assets:

- DZ Driver’s Licence.

- First Aid/CPR Certification.

- Working at Heights.

- Chainsaw Safety Training.

- Traffic Control (Book 7).

Schedule:

- Seasonal employment, 30–40 hours per week.

- Four 10-hour shifts each week.

- Overtime available.

- Occasional weekend and emergency storm response work.

- Based out of our Ramara yard, servicing Simcoe County, Muskoka, and surrounding areas with occasional out-of-town travel.
