Job Summary and Requirements

This job opportunity is to fill one permanent full time position working 75 hours bi-weekly

Your role

As a Community Health Nurse, you will focus on preventative health strategies to promote the health and well-being of community members. Duties include immunization, screening, public health/education programs, individual counselling and other related duties that contribute to the optimal functioning of the unit.

Essential qualifications

- Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
- Recent experience working as a Public Health Nurse administering immunizations and providing postpartum and well-child assessments in a community health setting

Candidates who have education, training, and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

- Clear understanding of confidentiality

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment:

- Recent TB Screening
- Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Valid Driver’s License
- Yukon RN registration in good standing
- Current Heart & Stroke BLS .

Job Requirements:

- Providing care both in the health centre and within the community
- Frequent driving in community and on Yukon highways
- Lifting and moving clients and equipment
