Mishmish is a third-culture Middle Eastern Bakery & Cafe dedicated to serving food and drink inspired by the tastes, techniques, and traditions that have been with our families for generations and the celebration of the adaptations that have come from who and where we are now.

Role Responsibilities

- Take orders and provide excellent customer service while staying calm under pressure and avoiding mistakes while taking and giving out orders.
- Menu knowledge and the ability to confidently answer food/drink-related customer questions.
- Make a variety of caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks while ensuring the proper execution of drink recipes even at the busiest of times.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with the ability to stay calm under pressure/during rushes.
- Uphold standards for quality, cleanliness, daily equipment maintenance, organization, and safety in all areas of coffee preparation and service




- Time management skills and the ability to work on their own or as part of a team
- Communicate clearly with management and the rest of the team.
- Ability to follow instructions and training based on guides and training materials.
- Be respectful of customers and coworkers

Qualifications

- 1+ year minimum experience working in a fast-paced coffee shop or café
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining quality and consistency in all aspects of service & beverage preparation.
- Passion for (approachable) coffee, ensuring that all types of coffee drinkers feel welcome.
- Punctuality and ability to work early mornings, if needed

Additional Details

- Wage - $18.25/hour
- Tips - Approx $4-$5/hour
- Discounts - Free meal & drink on shift and discounts when off shift.

Availability

- Hours - 32 to 40 Hours/week
- Shift Length - 8 hours

Pay: From $22.25 per hour

Education:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

- Barista: 1 year (required)

Language:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Protected Certificate or equivalent (preferred)
