Parachutes for Pets is seeking an energetic, dependable, and community-minded Community Operations Assistant to support a variety of day-to-day operations across the organization.

This is not a desk job. Every day is different. One morning you may be merchandising the thrift store, the next you could be picking up donations, helping with an event, organizing an outreach pet food bank, welcoming visitors at the front desk, or supporting another area of the organization where an extra set of hands is needed.

We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Responsibilities

- Support the daily operation of the thrift store, including merchandising, pricing, organizing, and customer service.
- Pick up donations throughout Edmonton using a Parachutes for Pets vehicle.
- Assist with community events, fundraising initiatives, and outreach activities.
- Provide friendly and professional front desk coverage.
- Help receive, sort, and move donations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming spaces.
- Support inventory management and retail displays.
- Assist other departments as operational needs change.
- Represent Parachutes for Pets in a professional and compassionate manner.

- Previous retail, customer service, nonprofit, or event experience is considered an asset.

Requirements

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving throughout Edmonton for donation pickups.
- Ability to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working occasional evenings or weekends for events.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
