Medigroup Portage Pharmacy is a established community pharmacy located in the heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

· This role is being created to provide better shift coverage at our pharmacy. We are growing! And we require a bit more help to ensure that our staff have the support they need in order to provide the best care possible to our patients. We are looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join our team on Saturdays from 9:00am-3:00pm. If candidates are looking for more shifts, we are open to discussing beyond the immediate need.

Job Responsibilities:

- Check prescriptions for proper dosage
- Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity
- Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage
- Maintain medication profiles of customers
- Follow proper policies and procedures for dispensing narcotic and controlled medications
- Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of all medication inventory




- Offer information to assist patients in understanding how to properly take their prescribed medications
- Assist patients in solving problems, such as identifying old medication or finding an over-the-counter solution to minor health issues
- Administer Suboxone in cases when necessary

Requirements:

- License in good standing to practice pharmacy in Manitoba
- Strong understanding of Kroll is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service abilities
- Reliable transportation
- Availability to work Saturdays when requested
- Able to administer medications by Injection
- Additional Prescribing Authorization (optional)
