An industrial postdoctoral fellowship is available at 3C Therapeutics Inc. for work on therapeutic peptides in a multidisciplinary collaboration for new agents in target drug delivery for therapy.

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with experience in synthetic, bioorganic, medicinal chemistry and a background in peptide- and bio-chemistry to join our Vancouver site. The fellow will become integrated within our protein team and take part in a drug discovery project. The fellow will gain experience in medicinal chemistry and protein biochemistry techniques and strategies. This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience in drug discovery.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plans and performs advanced experiments following established protocols.
- Troubleshoots methods and suggests novel and impactful changes to methods.
- Independently analyzes data using software including Excel, GraphPad Prism and authors lab notebook entries.
- Independently interprets results, identifies and prioritizes next steps and presents findings to the team.
- May design animal studies and co-ordinate activities with external contract research organizations.
- Contributes to project planning, timeline projections and coordination of activities with other functional groups.
- Seeks to understand ongoing projects through extensive attention to scientific literature and internally generated data.
- May train and/or supervise junior staff and co-op students.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, neat,



organized and operational lab.
- Actively works to foster an workplace of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management, and external partners.

Hiring Criteria:

- Completed a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or a related field from an accredited graduate level institution within the past one or two years.
- The successful candidate should have a strong interest and demonstrate deep understanding and experience in synthetic chemistry.
- The successful candidate should have a deep understanding and experience in peptide synthesis and purification.
- The successful candidate should have strong experience in biochemistry especially working and purification of proteins.
- The successful candidate is expected to understand the assigned project and work independently, propose experimental hypotheses, design experimental questions and protocols, and plan, coordinate, conduct and report on assigned research projects.
- The successful candidate is expected to produce organized records of daily work, and report to the supervisor frequently.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, as well as a team-oriented mindset for collaborative research, are critical.
- Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought, and ability to effectively collaborate with others with multiple scientific disciplines.

The salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
