Machinist (CNC & Manual) – Day Shift

Location: Oakville, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

TalentWorld is recruiting a Machinist for one of its valued manufacturing partners in Oakville.

This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components and has experience working in a fast-paced job shop environment.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience operating both CNC and conventional manual machines while consistently holding tight tolerances of less than .005". You will be responsible for machining a variety of custom and production parts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, and other shop machinery.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Machine parts to precise dimensions and tight tolerances (less than .005").
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges to verify dimensions.
- Make tooling offsets and machine adjustments as required to maintain quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work workplace.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.

Qualifications





- Minimum 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid experience operating both CNC and manual machines.
- Previous experience in a job shop environment producing precision components is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently machine parts to tight tolerances below .005".
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment including:
- Micrometers
- Vernier/Digital Calipers
- Dial Gauges (Dial Indicators)

- Ability to accurately read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with CNC programming or editing programs.
- Experience machining a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastics.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is considered an asset.
