Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

- Masters degree in a related study area

OR

- Bachelors degree or completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with three years = directly-related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

- Recent experience working with quantitative data childhood adversity data, including but not limited to surveys and systematic or scoping reviews is required.
- Experience working in and coordinating large teams, experience supervising student research assistants.
- Experience in literature syntheses of interdisciplinary bodies of literature related to childhood adversity and health.
- Experience with grant preparation, REB submissions, manuscript submission, oral and research posters required.
- Experience with academic and non-academic writing (e.g., Online blogs) and website management an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Demonstrated skills in report writing and literature syntheses is required.
- Demonstrated skills in quantitative research is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood adversity and mental health is required.
- Knowledge of different research designs and methods,



with an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. Strong quantitative data analysis experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

Key responsibilities

Research:

- Coordinate execution of data collection, analysis and data synthesis related activities for quantitative research projects (both where data collection is complete or still required).
- Conduct literature searches and manage references.
- Assist with research grant submissions.
- Contribute to development of research methods and protocols.
- Coordinate development of research databases.
- Coordinate preparation of research ethics board submissions and annual reports.
- Coordinate and contribute to participant recruitment and informed consent.
- Coordinate and collect quantitative data (administer questionnaires, extract data from systematic reviews).
- Coordinate and contribute to data analysis of quantitative data.
- Draft oral and poster presentations.
- Coordinate and contribute to manuscript submissions.
- Meet granting agency requirements (progress reports, final reports, etc.).
- Supervise student research assistants.

Administrative support:

- Orient new staff and trainees.
- Coordinate meetings and activities of co-investigators, advisory committees,



and other personnel involved in research projects.
- Makes travel arrangements, prepares itineraries and ensures that travel expense forms are completed and processed using Concur..
- Liaise with university resources (Research Services Office, Human Resources, etc.).
- Provide research and other support (as directed by supervisor) for graduate students and other assistants.
- Entering new journal articles, books, etc into reference software for supervisor.
- Photocopying, filing, filling travel claim forms, ordering equipment/supplies/services to advance research as needed.
- Assist supervisor with schedule, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
